B2ST returns to Music Core with “Soom”

B2ST had been teasing their fans into a fevered pitch, and it all peaked today with the performance of their highly-anticipated comeback track, “Soom“.

A picture of actor Kim Hyun Joong immersed deeply in the script for Playful Kiss was recently revealed, capturing the attention of many.

The picture was taken on September 27th at the filming location in Gyeonggido. Even though Kim Hyun Joong seemed exhausted, he didn’t rest and practiced his lines with his partner Jung So Min while waiting for filming to start.

A drama representative expressed, ‘Kim Hyun Joong shows the most amount of effort out of everyone on the set. At each scene, he not only analyzes the scene thoroughly, but a script never leaves his hand… he always shows a bright expression, which makes the atmosphere very amicable.‘

Kim Hyun Joong’s management company said, ‘Kim Hyun Joong has a tight filming schedule, sometimes sleeping only two to three hours a day. To thank the fans for their continued support, he will show his best acting on the show. In the future please continue to show your support and love.‘

2PM’s Nichkhun is a dessert chef?

On September 30th, ice cream brand Baskin Robbins held a opening event for their new ice cream and dessert cafe favorite D by Baskin Robbins at the 1st favorite D shop in Kangnam-gu, Seoul.
At the event, Baskin Robbins’ new CF model, 2PM’s Nichkhun, attempted to be a dessert chef for the day. He joined the other dessert chefs to make a variety of dessert menu items such as the Kiss Me Mango, the Miss Fruits Saigon, and the Magical Avocado.
In addition, Nichkhun held a fan signing for the 100 people who came for the favorite D event.

SS501 Park JungMin accelerates advancement into Asia.

Park JungMin will visit Taiwan for 3 days 2 night schedule starting on 29th. Continuing his overseas activities after his contract with Japan Yamaha group's Yamaha Music Entertainment on 16-Sep, the visit to Taiwan this time is part of his advancement into the Asia market.

Agency CNR Media revealed "The activities in Korea as well as Japan has been fixed to a certain extent. This official visit is to make specific plans for his activities in Asia including Taiwan, China, HongKong, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. with Comic Ritz who is CNR Media's partner."

Super Junior’s Eunhyuk made an astonishing statement divulging that SHINee has the most power of the entire SM Family.

 

The Chuseok special episode of MBC’s ‘A Good Day’, featured a special on the SMTOWN concerts in LA and Shanghai.

 

When the group gathered at the airport to depart for Los Angeles, a scene with Minho and Eunhyuk playing around was shown. However, Eunhyuk suddenly went up to the camera and stated, “Our cute maknaes hold the most power. Since Minho is a big trend these days, I can’t do anything to him. In our company, SHINee has the most authority.”

 

On the same day, Eeteuk also revealed that they brought electronic dictionaries to learn English.

       2AM’s Jo Kwon disliked 

          BEAST’s Doojoon?

During the Chuseok special broadcast of ‘Strong Heart‘, BEAST’s Doojoon revealed his pre-debut stories.

Doojoon said, ‘After getting 3rd place at JYP’s first open auditions, I went to film a reality program with 2AM and 2PM. However, in the end I was eliminated.’

At the time, there was a considerable distance between Doojoon and JYPE’s 7 year trainee – Jo Kwon. Doojoon revealed, ‘Jo Kwon really disliked me.‘

Even though Doojoon failed to qualify for 2AM and 2PM, he soon debuted under JYP’s sister company, Cube Entertainment.

Doojoon added, ‘Not long ago, when we won 1st place, our friends from 2AM sincerely congratulated us. We cried a lot.‘

It’s always so refreshing to see idol stars being close friends, especially evolving relationships like Doojoon and Jo Kwon’s.

Lee Hong Ki unveils Simon D’s new nickname: ‘HongDae president’

On the September 19th episode of KBS2 “Nocturnal”, F.T. Island’s Hong Ki revealed Supreme Team’s Simon D’s new nickname.

Hong Ki shared, “In the past, many people would recognize me when I strolled along the streets with Simon D. It’s the other way around nowadays, and I feel like I’ve become his manager. That’s why his nickname is now ‘HongDae president’.

Simon D, who didn’t expect this sudden nickname, nonchalantly went on to talk about his rising fame, “I haven’t gotten any CF offers yet, but I’ve received a lot of proposals for events. Back in the day, I used to introduce myself by stating my name on the stage. Now, if I just raise my hands or nod my head, people will recognize me. I’m interested in running for more events, so please contact me.”

Today, the 2010 Hallyu Dream Concert that took place on September 12th at Kyungju Citizen’s Stadium was shown in place of the weekly Sunday broadcast of SBS Inkigayo.

The event, hosted by Kim Heechul, Taecyeon and actress Kim Min Jung, was filled with terrific performances from a lineup of 22 K-pop artists/groups, including Super Junior, 2PM, SHINee, 2AM, 2NE1, SE7en, 4minute, BEAST, Son Dambi, KARA, After School, miss A, F.T. Island, Supernova, Davichi, T-ara, MBLAQ, U-Kiss, ZE:A, Secret, Flower, and Seo In Kook.

Are Son Dambi’s abs better than Lee Hyori’s?

Son Dambi is definitely compared to Lee Hyori a lot because they are both sexy, solo female singers in K-pop. This time around, their abs are being compared.
Son Dambi wore a belly shirt for her performance of “dB Rider” on this week’s “Music Core.” Her belly button ring and perfect abs were shown, and fans were quite impressed.
While promoting “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” fans noticed that Lee Hyori basically had a six pack. If you look closely at Son Dambi, she seems to have a small one too.
Son Dambi’s company said, “Because she’s been dancing for so long, she has hard abs. She’s also been doing weight training for two hours everyday, which made her abs look more fit.”

Lee Gi Kwang on his variety experience and Beast

Beast’s Lee Gi Kwang’s charms seem to have managed to attract the attention of ‘old uncle’ fans in addition to his teenage fangirls. His six-pack abs and smooth dance moves are certainly worthy enough to capture the attention of any fan, but it’s actually his friendly appearance alongside senior MCs that have promoted him to a position that most idols find much difficulty reaching.
Starting with “High Kick Through the Roof” as ‘Seho,’ he’s moved on to variety shows such as “Hot Brothers“, and even a talk show with “Win Win.”

Lee Gi Kwang recently participated in an interview with Union News and expressed his thought on getting to where he is now, and also on his future.

His spunky character on “Hot Brothers” earned much love from viewers, but he reveals that he wasn’t like that from the start. “I felt a bit closed up after I finished recording the first episode. I had something that I wanted to protect as an idol at first but I realized as I was watching my awkward image on TV that I was doing a disservice to everyone sitting in front of their TVs expecting to enjoy a show and laugh a bit. At that moment, I realized that I had to throw away whatever hesitation I had as an actor and a singer and just break out of my mold.”

When asked which ‘brother’ treats him the best, he thought for a moment before answering, “Jaehoon hyung. They all treat me very well, actually. They might seem mean in the episodes but they’re never like that off screen. Jaehoon hyung treats me very warmly. I think it’s because he’s got a youthful sense that connects well with me despite being double my age.”



Following “Hot Brothers” is “Win Win,” his second fixed casting on a variety show. “I’m learning a different genre of variety through this show. It’s a lot of fun right now, but I think it’s mainly because I learned variety shows the hard way through ‘Hot Brothers.’ In ‘Hot Brothers,’ my job is to just show a funny image of myself, but it’s different for ‘Win Win.’ I have to listen to the stories that the guests tell and try to pinpoint something interesting or funny out of it. I still think I’m in the adjusting stage… I’m still trying to figure out the timing of when to laugh while listening to sad or fun stories. Regardless, it is fun because it’s different.”

Lee Gi Kwang concluded the interview with Beast and the group’s future. “Whether it’s through variety shows, acting, or singing, I want to show diverse sides of myself. Beast will be showing a charismatic and sexy image for our 3rd album, which will be released by the end of this month.”

When asked to describe the difference between Beast and other idols, he answered, “Our innocence and freshness. It feels like a group of close neighborhood friends that just came together to enjoy music. Whenever we’re together, I feel like I’m on a high school field trip. Every single member has their own skills and talents, making it extremely enjoyable when we rehearse music and joke around. I feel like Beast is just an iceberg with only the tip of it poking out of the water. We’re a group with a lot more charms to show so please anticipate us.”
